Crawler & Indexability

If GPTBot, ClaudeBot, or PerplexityBot are blocked in robots.txt, none of your other work matters, the AI simply never reads the page. An llms.txt file adds a second layer, explicitly pointing models to your most important content.

Structured Data

Schema markup turns prose into facts. FAQPage and HowTo schema in particular are extracted almost verbatim by AI Overviews and answer engines because they remove ambiguity about what is a question and what is an answer.

Does this actually crawl my site, or is it a self-assessment?
It is a live scan. When you click Scan My Site, our server fetches your page, your robots.txt, and checks whether an llms.txt file exists, in real time, and scores what it actually finds. There is no questionnaire and nothing is self-reported.
What is a good score?
80+ means most pillars are in good shape. 50-79 means at least one pillar needs real work. Below 50, start with the Crawler & Indexability pillar, it blocks everything downstream if it is weak.
Does a high score guarantee AI citations?
No automated tool can guarantee citations, AI engines weigh many factors including domain authority and query match. A high score means you have removed the structural barriers that commonly prevent citation, not a guarantee of it.
How often should I redo this?
Re-run it after any major change to robots.txt, schema, or content format, and at minimum once a quarter, since AI crawler behaviour and best practices are still evolving quickly.
